Designer | Mentor | User advocate | Color enthusiast

  • My journey in design began in Colombia and has evolved over a career spanning more than a decade in the United States. I credit my love for color, typography, and design to my origins, further nurtured through half a lifetime of diverse experiences.

Over the years, I have grown from a visual and print designer into a versatile digital design professional, expanding my expertise to encompass user experience (UX) and research. This evolution was fostered by collaborations with exceptional designers and clients on a wide array of projects, including intranets, healthcare and government applications, and mobile apps.

While visual design remains my core passion, I find fulfillment in mentorship, sharing insights, and advocating for the importance of intentional design at every project stage.

  • My design approach focuses on creating intuitive, scalable, and visually polished experiences by balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. I incorporate AI tools into my workflow to speed up research, gather competitive insights, and turn product requirements into initial user flows and concepts. I still prioritize hands-on research and usability testing, using AI where it adds value, to make sure decisions are grounded in real user needs.

I rely on design systems and component libraries, along with tools like Figma and Storybook, to maintain consistency and efficiently build production-ready prototypes. Using AI in parts of the prototyping and workflow helps me move from concept to validation faster without sacrificing quality. I work closely with product managers and engineers from discovery through implementation, combining human-centered design with AI-supported insights to turn complex requirements into clear, practical solutions that drive measurable results.

  • Over the past decade, I’ve partnered with organizations across telecommunications, airlines, eCommerce, supply chain, and global beverage industries, in addition to designing in-house retail solutions such as self-checkout and point-of-sale systems.

    Purpose

Every project begins with a clear purpose. I start by identifying why I’m designing and who I am designing for. This clarity anchors all decisions throughout the process.

  • User Experience (UX)

    Research

I assess how users currently engage with the product, using AI to accelerate research and uncover meaningful patterns and opportunities. I analyze how similar challenges are addressed across the industry through competitive insights, then shape a clear, informed strategy grounded in best practices and user-centered thinking.

    User Experience (UX)

I shape user journeys and flows, using AI to accelerate exploration and refine scenarios early in the process. I evaluate technical constraints and align closely with design guidelines and requirements to ensure solutions are intuitive, scalable, and grounded in user needs.

    User Interface (UI)

I create wireframes, iterate through testing, and develop high‑fidelity designs. I update the design system, build new components when necessary, conduct QA, and prepare all final deliverables.
