Goals:

Redesign POS and guest services applications from Windows to iOS in a very short amount of time


  • Redesign all screens, while making sure that Apple’s HIG is applied

  • Handoff to developers and leave the path ready for future iterations

  • Work and lead off-shore and on-shore team to accomplish our goals

 

Team

Our team was composed of myself as the lead visual designer, the offshore design team (3), junior designer.
As the lead designer, my responsibilities were:

  • Communicate with the client throughout the project, present design problems and wins

  • Create a new design file to collaborate from, creating some guidelines and initial screens to maintain consistency

  • Design challenging screens to make sure they were in line with iOS guidelines and that the users could understand without training

  • Manage master file to make sure all the screens were done for both applications

  • Work with clients and engineers to assess which features could be redesigned and which ones to move to later phases

  • Handoff final designs to engineers


Outcome

Our Flight work led to our team completing the project successfully, by delivering screens that represented the existing work in iOS and by highlighting opportunities where more UX work would be necessary to create better experiences for the flight attendants.

Our team continued to work on improving the app for the next 3 years.
